Within minutes it is clear the Land of Giants is something very special indeed… startlingly original, moving and breathtaking… if all the events of the London 2O12 Festival are bursting with the same originality and passion seen here, then we will certainly match the sporting side of the Olympics with striking British art and culture.”

“To add original animation and the technical difficulties of its projection to a show already as big, complex and pressurised as Land Of Giants could easily have been the straw that broke the directors back.
Thankfully it was with great appreciation and to the supreme credit of Graham and his incredible team of artists, technicians and crew, that this was one of the least stressful and most pleasant collaborations of the whole production.”
Mark Murphy, Artistic Director Land of Giants.
I was personally responsible for the animation and projection elements of the Land of Giants show produced for the UK Cultural Olympiad in 2012. This involved projecting an animation I directed 30m high onto Belfast’s iconic Titanic Signature building, perfectly synchronised with a soundtrack of poetry, aerialists, fireworks and a cast of over 500 people to an audience of over 30,000.
I recruited and directed a team of artists who drew 6000 frames of animation by hand. The entire project was delivered in less than 3 months and under budget. The show itself was considered an enormous success by the audience of 20,000 and received a 5 star review from the Huffington Post.
The event was partnered by Giant Events Company, Legacy Trust UK, London 2012 Festival, Belfast Community Circus School, Beat Initiative, Young at Art, Belfast City Council.
